Superintendent's Article
In late August, as summer break concluded, Marcellus Community Schools’ faculty and staff gathered for professional learning. Held over the course of three days, the inservice training featured a series of workshops and presentations aimed at enhancing instructional practices, bolstering safety practices, and promoting student well-being.
New instructional staff also participated in a fourth day of professional learning. On August 19, the group attended orientation sessions and training specific to growth planning, evaluation protocols, and district systems. Pictured below are Kayla Creager, sixth grade; Melissa Stuck, fifth grade; Cody Mikel, seventh and eighth grade math; Aleyna Hutson (Gribler), seventh/ eighth grade ELA; Michelle Schuur, high school ELA. Please join me in welcoming them to our excellent school community!
In other news, I am pleased to introduce Special Education Director Mrs. Lynn Buchkowski. Buchkowski comes to Marcellus with over fifteen years of special education administration. For the last ten years, she served as the Van Buren Intermediate School District’s Supervisor of Special Education at Hartford Public Schools. Welcome Mrs. Buchkowski!
