October at Marcellus Middle School!

October is packed with exciting activities for our Wildcats! From career exploration to community service and Halloween fun, there's plenty happening at MMS this month.

Important Dates

• October 22: 8th Grade MiCareerQuest Field Trip

• October 30: Community Leaf Raking Day (Afternoon)

• October 30: Halloween Dance, 3:00–5:00 PM ($5 admission)

• October 30: End of the Marking Period

Wildcat Highlights

MiCareerQuest: Our eighth graders will explore career opportunities and meet professionals representing more than 75 local businesses.

Leaf Raking Day: Students will give back to the community on October 30. Volunteers with rakes or leaf blowers are welcome! Donations of snacks and drinks are also appreciated.

Halloween Dance: Students can enjoy an afternoon of Halloween fun following leaf raking. Costume guidelines and additional details will be shared soon.

Homework Hour: Academic support is available every Monday and Wednesday from 3:00–4:00 PM.

Friday Fun Days

Students will be given a new missing assignment report each Friday. On Friday, during select elective class times, students who have missing work are sent to work with staff members to complete as much missing work as possible. Missing work needs to be turned in by the end of the school day on Thursday or it will still appear on the missing assignment report. Students can also use this time to get extra help from a teacher. Students who have all their work completed may participate in board games, movies, open gym, and other fun activities their elective teachers dream up for them. Please ask your child if they have any missing assignments and encourage them to complete any they may have. Our goal is to create a culture where all students do all assignments on time. With all of us working together, we can achieve this goal. Friday Fun Days will begin September 12.
