• Things to know . . .

  • Homework hour is at the Middle School Monday-Thursday from 3-4 pm. Homework hour is available to all students and they do not need to sign up in advance.
  • No homework hour on October 2, 3, and 8 due to teacher meetings and half-day schedules.
  • School Picture retakes are October 17
  • Saturday School will be October 26 from 8:30-11:00. Parents will be notified on Friday, October 25 if their child is recommended for Saturday school. Breakfast and transportation are not provided for Saturday school.
  • October 23 8th grade students will go to Career Quest in Kalamazoo. The bus will pick them up at the middle school at 10:45 and they will return to the middle school at 2:30. This is an educational field trip. Click here for information.
  • October 25 will be the Halloween Dance Party for all Marcellus Middle School students. There will be music, open gym, concessions and games. Admission is $5.00
  • November 1 is the last day of the first marking period.

Friday Fun Days

Students will be given a new missing assignment report each Friday. On Friday, during select elective class times, students who have missing work are sent to work with staff members to complete as much missing work as possible. Missing work needs to be turned in by the end of the school day on Thursday or it will still appear on the missing assignment report. Students can also use this time to get extra help from a teacher. Students who have all their work completed may participate in board games, movies, open gym, and other fun activities their elective teachers dream up for them. Please ask your child if they have any missing assignments and encourage them to complete any they may have. Our goal is to create a culture where all students do all assignments on time. With all of us working together, we can achieve this goal. Friday Fun Days will begin September 13.
