Superintendent's Article

As announced in February, I will retire on June 30. It has been my honor and privilege to lead the amazing Marcellus Community Schools for the majority of my career.
After thirty-five incredible years serving in various roles within this district, the time has come for me to focus on new endeavors. While I look forward to the journey ahead, leaving this school community, a place that has been my home for so long, is bittersweet.
Reflecting on my time in Marcellus, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the countless students, colleagues, volunteers, parents, school board and community members who have shaped my career and enriched my life. From my early days as an adult education instructor and secondary teacher, to later serving as the principal of both our alternative education program and middle/high school, to spending the last thirteen years as Superintendent, each experience has reinforced my deep commitment to education and student success. I have been blessed to work alongside extraordinary educators and support staff. The relationships I have built and the memories I carry with me will remain cherished for a lifetime.
Marcellus is a special place, one where collaboration, commitment, and care define our approach to education. It has been an absolute privilege to work alongside such inspiring individuals who share a common goal: ensuring the success and well-being of our students. Although I will no longer be serving in an official capacity, Marcellus will always hold a special place in my heart. I look forward to seeing the district continue to thrive under the leadership of those who will carry on the tradition of excellence we have worked so hard to uphold. Thank you for the honor of serving this remarkable district. I will always be a proud Wildcat.
