The start of the new school year is just around the corner. The faculty and staff at Marcellus Community Schools look forward to welcoming students back to school on August 26 for a half day session. In preparation for opening day, important information is listed below.
Open House and Back to School Events

Open House (all buildings)- August 21, 4:30- 6:00 p.m.
Freshman Orientation- August 19, 6:00 p.m.

Paper copies of the school calendar will be available at each building’s open house and will be provided to students on the first day of school. The school calendar can also be found on the district’s website at https://marcelluscs.org/calendar/.

Free Meals for ALL Students
Again this year,breakfast and lunch are free for all students. Parents should complete the Education Benefit Form included in opening day packets. Alternatively, parents may use the QR code, or visit https://marcelluscs.org/departments/dining-services/ to complete the form online. Food service staff will be available at the elementary and middle school open houses to assist families as needed.
Building and Class Schedules
Questions regarding specific building schedules, including arrival and dismissal times, should be directed to the building principal, counselor, or office staff. Applicable phone numbers are listed below.

Transportation
New for this school year, parents whose child(ren) will ride the school bus to or from school are asked to complete the online transportation form.

Communication
Marcellus Community Schools will continue to use a phone alert system to notify parents of school closings, delays or emergencies. In order for the system to be effective, please be sure to provide updated contact information to the appropriate office.
Parents can access their child’s grades and stay up to date on academic progress by using PowerSchool parent viewer. Login and password information can be obtained by contacting the school office. Please go to https://psmarcellus.berrienresa.org/public/ to access the parent viewer. As always, parents are encouraged to participate in parent- teacher conferences, school events, and should contact their child’s teachers with any questions or concerns regarding academic progress.
The 2024-25 school year promises to be an exciting time for our school, students and community.
