Superintendent's Article

The week of May 6- 10 is National Teacher Appreciation Week.  Please join me in celebration and recognition of the exceptional educators at Marcellus Community Schools.

The week is not just about recognizing our educators’ dedicated efforts to teach content and subjects, it’s also about acknowledging the profound impact teachers have on shaping the future.  Our teachers cultivate curiosity and inspire the next generation of leaders, all while modeling and promoting values such as empathy, honesty, kindness, and teamwork. Theirs is a noble profession with huge responsibility; it warrants our respect, support, admiration, and gratitude.

Marcellus Community Schools is fortunate to have extremely talented and caring teachers whose work leads to many academic accolades for our district and students.  Our Reward School status is just one spectacular indicator of our teachers’ relentless pursuit of excellence.  I am honored to be able to work alongside our inspired professional educators!

Whether through a heartfelt note, a simple "thank you," or a gesture of appreciation, let's take this opportunity to acknowledge the positive impact teachers have on our lives, our kids, our community, and the world around us.  To the dedicated and extraordinary teachers of Marcellus Community Schools, Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!

Congratulations to teacher Joe Lekan and to our third through sixth grade students and teachers for their outstanding accomplishments in a state wide Learning.com Keyboarding Contest.  The contest focuses on typing speed, accuracy, and helps students learn essential typing skills needed to do well on online assessments, schoolwork, and in college or career.   The contest ends April 30; our kids are currently ranked in the top six schools.
