This past weekend, I was privileged to attend two fantastic events at Marcellus Community Schools. These community events showcased the talents and hard work of our students and staff, and I couldn’t be more proud!
On Saturday morning, the Volinia Outcomes School hosted their annual Maple Festival Pancake Breakfast. In addition to the delicious maple syrup and tours of the sugar bush, the event also featured a visit by the Easter bunny! Kudos to the students and staff who helped prepare, serve, and greet the patrons. Pictured are Volinia alumna Danielle Kuemin and her three children with the Easter Bunny.
On Saturday evening, I was thrilled to attend the Marcellus High School Drama Club’s performance of Clue, based on the screenplay by Johnathan Lynn and written by Sandy Rustin. Under the skillful direction of their dedicated drama coach, Misty Welburn, the talented students brought the classic whodunit to life with flair and creativity. The cast delivered remarkable performances, each actor embodying their eccentric roles with confidence and charm, while the elaborate set design and period-appropriate costumes showcased the dedication and hard work of the entire production team.
It takes incredible commitment and tireless effort to pull off a production of this caliber. My sincere thanks goes to Director Misty Welburn, Backstage & Technical Directors Megan and Cody Mikel, Set Design & Construction Jason Welburn, and the numerous volunteers, including Jamie Cardella, Tom and Parker Enright, Megan Hurley, and Megan Shenfeld. Thanks also to all who provided set furniture and decorations and otherwise offered their time and assistance. Bravo to the cast, crew, and directors for another fantastic show!
