  • Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP)
    GSRP is a high quality, free preschool program for four-year-old children in our county that is guided by the Lewis Cass Intermediate School District. Children are welcome to enter the program if they are four by September 1 and meet certain requirements.
    Title One
    The Marcellus Board of Education believes that the education of our children is the joint responsibility of the school, the parents, and the community. To ensure that the best interest of our children will be served, a strong program of school, parent, and community communication must be maintained.

Technology

Employee Acceptable Use Form
The Board has implemented technology protection measures which block/filter Internet access to visual displays that are obscene or harmful to minors. The Board also monitors online activity of staff members in an effort to restrict access to material that is obscene, objectionable, inappropriate and/or harmful to minors.

Student Network and Internet Acceptable User and Safety Agreement Form (CIPA)
Use of the computers and Internet provided great educational benefits to students. Unfortunately, some material accessible via the Internet may contain items that are illegal, defamatory, or offensive to some people. Access to the Internet and the use of the computer network is given as a privilege to students who agree to act in a considerate and responsible manner. We require that students and parents or guardians read, accept, and sign the following rules for acceptable online behavior at the time of registration.

Title IX Coordinators & Training Materials

The Department of Education is committed to expanding and protecting opportunities for students to learn. Title IX of the Higher Education Act of 1972 promises equal access to education for all students and it protects them against discrimination on the basis of sex.

Title IX was enacted to ensure: “No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.”

504/Civil Rights Coordinators

The employees designated to coordinate schools’ compliance with civil rights laws play an essential role in ensuring that all students in the United States, regardless of their race, color, national origin, sex, or disability, have equal educational opportunities. Some schools designate one employee to coordinate compliance with all applicable civil rights laws. Other schools designate one or more employees to coordinate compliance with individual civil rights laws.

Athletic Hall of Fame

The Hall of Fame recognizes former Marcellus High School athletes, coaches, teams, and others who have distinguished themselves in the field of athletics, either by virtue of their performance on or as coach of teams representing Marcellus, or college or professional teams, or by meritorious efforts on behalf of Marcellus athletics/

People who are eligible for selection to the Marcellus Athletic Hall of Fame are
1) Individual Marcellus High School Athletes- Male or Female
2) Individual Marcellus High School Coaches In Any Sports
3) Varsity Teams Of Any Marcellus High School Sport For A Specific Year
4) Community And School Members Who Made Contributions Over The Years To Marcellus Athletes And Teams.

The nomination or election of any team to the Hall of Fame does not prohibit any member, either athlete or coach, from that team from being elected to the Hall of Fame. A nominee becomes eligible for induction into the Hall of Fame three years after graduation of his/her class from high school or three years after the end of that team's season. Nominations may be made posthumously.

SELECTION PROCESS
Nominations will be accepted ONLINE. Please be as complete with information as possible.  
The nominees will be evaluated by the Selection Committee made up of various coaches, administrators, a school board member, and community members. The Selection Committee will vote for their choices. No member of the Selection Committee may be one of the individuals nominated or on one of the teams nominated. A MAXIMUM OF FIVE SHALL BE INDUCTED IN TO THE HALL OF FAME IN ANY GIVEN YEAR. That does not prevent the selection of less than five in any given year. The selection of a team for induction counts as one inductee. Any individual or team may be nominated an unlimited number of times.

All nominations will be kept from year to year and automatically nominated in succeeding years. After ten years nominations will be evaluated by the Selection Committee and removed from the list of nominees if they are deemed as lacking support. Once a person or team has been selected for induction into the Hall of Fame, the Selection Committee will notify them of their selection. Notifications will take place as soon as possible.

INDUCTION CEREMONY
The induction ceremony will take place at the High School. Each inductee should provide the committee with a NON-RETURNABLE photo to be used for the induction plaque. Each individual inductee shall receive a copy of the induction plaque that will be permanently displayed at Marcellus High School. All inductees will also be honored at a reception following the induction ceremony.
