Superintendents' News

The Marcellus Board of Education will soon welcome a new member.  In the November 8 election, Justin Ware won a four year seat and incumbents Joe Tone, Nikki Welburn-Hackenberg, and Ed Asmus were reelected. Current board members Laura Schug, Sarah Engstrom and Vicki Essex were not up for reelection and President Tim Henry did not seek reelection.  Ware will take his seat in January.

I appreciate these elected volunteers who chose to serve on our school board.  I am especially grateful to outgoing president Tim Henry for his many years of dedicated service. I, along with the entire school community, have been fortunate to have a consistent, measured, and reflective board trustee and president at the helm for more than a decade.  To say that his contributions have been significant is truly an understatement.  Under his leadership, the district saw the passage of the 2014 bond project, upgraded facilities, the addition of new technology and improved curricular resources, the creation of the Marcellus Early College, expansion of career-technical programs, the reopening of the middle school, significantly improved fiscal health, and much more.   A steadfast leader, Henry has always been focused on putting students first and continuous school improvement.   To Mr. Henry I extend my heartfelt thanks; you will be missed.
