Things to know . . .

• Homework hour is at the Middle School Monday through Thursday from 3 to 4 p.m. It is available to all students, and they do not need to sign up in advance. Homework hour is no available on half-days of school.
• January 16 is the end of the first semester and is a half-day for students.
• There will not be Homework Hour on Wednesday, January 7 due to teacher meetings.
• There will be Saturday School January 10 from 8:30-11:00 a.m.
• Middle school students will take Quarter Tests in the last couple of weeks of the semester.  These tests will cover the curriculum taught during quarter two.
• Quarter tests will be scheduled so that students do not have more than one quarter test each day.
• State assessments are just around the corner—after Spring Break. All students will complete the MSTEP, and 8th graders will also complete the PSAT 8. All tests are digital this year, including the PSAT 8.

Friday Fun Days

Students will be given a new missing assignment report each Friday. On Friday, during select elective class times, students who have missing work are sent to work with staff members to complete as much missing work as possible. Missing work needs to be turned in by the end of the school day on Thursday or it will still appear on the missing assignment report. Students can also use this time to get extra help from a teacher. Students who have all their work completed may participate in board games, movies, open gym, and other fun activities their elective teachers dream up for them. Please ask your child if they have any missing assignments and encourage them to complete any they may have. Our goal is to create a culture where all students do all assignments on time. With all of us working together, we can achieve this goal. Friday Fun Days will begin September 12.
