Signed by Governor Jennifer Granholm into law on October 1, 2007, Public Act 101, MCL380.1284a.
- Be in compliance with sections 1284 and 1284b of the School Aid Act.
- Identify the dates for at least the next five years when schools will not be in session for a winter holiday and spring holiday.
Common school calendars were required to be in place for the 2008-2009 school year. Districts operating on a trimester system were allowed to apply for a waiver. School districts that bargained a multi-year calendar prior to the legislation being enacted were not required to implement the common calendar until the calendars that were bargained expire.
